Services

The basis behind chiropractic care is to gently align the bones of the spine in the proper position, so that the body can function as best as possible.  A bone out of  place is called a “subluxation.” Subluxations can be caused by chemical, physical, or psychological stresses to the body.

Dr. Amy utilizes a variety of chiropractic techniques including diversified (manual) adjusting,  Activator (instrument) adjusting, Thompson (using  drop pieces in the table) and is trained by the  ICPA in the Webster Technique for pregnancy. This technique helps to relax the ligaments and align the bones of the pelvis to help the baby be in the best position for birth.

Chiropractic Care

Orthotics are custom fitted to individuals by taking a mold of the feet and sending the mold to the orthotic company, where they create an orthotic to best support the bones and tissues of the feet.   There are a variety of orthotics to meet each individuals needs. You may be a good candidate for orthotics if you suffer from: heel pain, plantar fascitis, pronation of the foot, high arches, are flat footed, or have deformities of the feet or toes.

Custom Orthotics

In certain cases , the doctor may use therapeutic modalities to assist in symptom reduction. Moist hot packs, cold packs, and therapeutic ultrasound, and TENS units are available.

Therapeutic ultrasound utilizes sound waves that are sent into the tissue to help break up inflammation.

TENS units use electrical stimulation to provide pain relief as well as decrease muscle tension
