Chiropractic care is very safe for children as new research from the ICPA has shown. With infants we use very light force-similar to a fingertip contact. Depending on the subluxation, it may feel like we are touching a bruise and may be sensitive. Most children enjoy being adjusted and find it very comfortable and may even tell you when they need to be checked. |
Subluxations can happen as early as during the birthing process, so getting your child checked shortly after birth can be beneficial, especially if there were was a difficult delivery, such as cesarean section, use of forceps, or vacuum extraction. Also a good time to have your child checked is when he or she reaches a new milestone, such as being able to crawl, sit, stand, or walk. |
A chiropractic subluxation is a misalignment of a vertebra. Chiropractors use their hands as well as imaging to diagnose subluxations. |

The Webster Technique is a adjusting technique for pregnant women that aligns the bones of the pelvis and relaxes the uterine ligaments. This helps to reduce interuterine constraint on the baby and allows him or her to be in the best position for birth. This technique is very helpful for women with a breech presentation and in many cases has allowed the baby to turn into a vertex position. Pl |
